Eyebrow tints are all the rage this season.
Even I’ve been dying to have lush full dark eyebrows.
The only way I can get mine to look darker is by applying Tarte’s Brow Mousse, which also helps to slightly increase the size of my eyebrows.
So I started thinking that there has to be an easier way to do this without spending too much money.
This brought on a ton of research on different products to make my eyebrows look darker.
I even looked into eyebrow microblading and microshading, but I wasn’t ready for that step especially with the hefty price tag for a good artist.
As I continued my research, I came across several eyebrow tints and I decided to give them a try.
Below are the eyebrow tints that I tried followed by my reviews:
- Godefroy Permanent Eyebrow Tint
- Natural Oils
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel
- Tarte Double Duty Tinted Brow Gel
- Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel
Godefroy Permanent Eyebrow Tint
The directions that came with the box were pretty straightforward. I did have a bit of a struggle opening the capsule but once I opened it everything went pretty smooth.
I was surprised that there was no smell and no burning sensation, as it is a dye, so I was expecting one or the other.
For the first round, I applied the tint for 6 minutes because my hair is a little resistant to take color. After taking a look I decided that I wanted my eyebrows a little darker, so I went with another 4 minutes, for a total of 10 minutes.
And I truly loved how dark my eyebrows looked afterward. To give you some idea my natural eyebrow color is a dark ashy brown.
So, what happened after?
The package said 6 weeks but they only lasted a week. I’m definitely a little disappointed.
I did give this product another try a week after and they didn’t last any longer than the first time.
So to actually not have to do a thing to my eyebrows for a full week. Let’s just say that I’m a bit conflicted to say the least with this one.
Natural Oils
I tried so hard to stick with the natural castor and almond oils in hopes that they would work but sadly they didn’t.
I never noticed any changes and I stuck with them for about 2 months, putting them on twice a day (sigh).
Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel
I also tried Anastasia’s brow gel, but the brush was a full size brush similar to the ones used for mascara. Which didn’t really allow me to shape my brows the way I wanted them to. I kept removing more tint than actually applying any.
The other thing I didn’t like was the formula, it had glitter in it. I’m not a fan of glitter on my eyebrows, so this formula was not for me.
Tarte Double Duty Tinted Brow Gel
Another formula I tried was by Tarte. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of the color options as they didn’t compliment my olive skin tone.
Plus, I couldn’t quite get my eyebrows to look good with the tiny spool. It was awkwardly shaped, so it was a fail for me.
Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel
The last one I tried was from Benefit Cosmetics, Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel.
The brush literally helps me apply the formula to my eyebrows without having to wipe off or use anything else. I went with their #5 Deep – dark brown to black because I love having my eyebrows look a little darker.
I know some people tend to use a brow mouse before applying the formula, but I didn’t feel I needed it. I’m able to use this formula on its own especially since the color is so dark.
Any guesses on which eyebrow tint I kept?
That’s right ‘Benefit’ for the win! I hands-down love it! It’s quick and easy to throw on the go.
